Adaptive Quizzing
« Back to Glossary Index
Adaptive quizzing is a type of assessment that automatically adjusts the difficulty and sequence of questions based on the learner’s performance in real time.
How It Works
- The quiz starts with a question of medium difficulty.
- If the learner answers correctly → the next question becomes harder.
- If the learner answers incorrectly → the next question becomes easier.
- The system continually adapts to match the learner’s skill level.
The Goal
Adaptive quizzing aims to:
- Measure a learner’s knowledge more accurately
- Prevent frustration from questions that are too difficult
- Avoid boredom from questions that are too easy
- Provide a personalized learning experience
- Identify knowledge gaps quickly
Adaptive quizzes give a far more precise picture of a learner’s true competency compared to a traditional one-size-fits-all quiz.
